My Story

My fitness journey began over 16 years ago, during one of the most transformative times in my life. I had just started my family, moved away from my support system, and relocated to support my husband’s military career. Being away from my mom and sisters was difficult, but it planted the seed for a journey that would not only reshape my body but my entire life.
I’ve always been active. Growing up, I played nearly every sport imaginable and spent years dancing and teaching hip hop and jazz. But like many women, becoming a mother brought dramatic changes to my body and routine. After my first pregnancy, I worked hard to regain my fitness, only to be met with another challenge—pregnancy number two—right as my husband deployed to Iraq. That time was difficult both physically and mentally.
After my second son was born, I again committed to reclaiming my strength. I succeeded, but a move overseas, cultural transitions, and emotional hardships—including the loss of my grandfather—led to weight gain, body image struggles, and a battle with bulimia. I was stuck in a cycle of emotional eating and self-criticism.
Everything changed when a friend invited me to join a group of military spouses who worked out together while taking turns watching each other’s kids. That small community of women gave me something I didn’t realize I needed—support, encouragement, and friendship. I rediscovered the joy in movement and began rebuilding my strength, mindset, and relationship with food.
From that moment on, I committed to learning as much as I could about functional fitness, nutrition, and sustainable health. I worked out through my third pregnancy, invested in home gym equipment, studied proper form and exercise adaptations, and kept moving—even when life got tough.
